I have played self taught guitar on and off since i was 13 when i got my first acoustic. People would tell me i could play but i always felt like without lessons i wouldn't ever be more than barre chords and power chords and never really knew more than a handful of real chords and never really knew any complete songs, solos and all. Sitting down and working out solos by ear can be quite a task and i never really had much confidence I was playing it right. So now at 45 yrs of age i decided to get serious about learning how to really play. Last year I went out and bought new guitar/amp. Started checking out YouTube videos and learning some but it still seemed slow and kinda boring. Most of the people on YouTube do too much talking and not enough playing/teaching and to much starting and stopping. I didn't feel like i was advancing like i wanted. Then i stumbled across Rocksmith 2014 in the PS3 online store one night while looking for games. Found out i needed to buy the bundle with cable, came here, read all the reviews, went to other places on the Internet read all the reviews, got pumped up, came back here, bought it. Delivers super quick, hook up, plug in, tune up and in less than a week i am playing easy songs like blitzkrieg bop lead guitar at 100% even with master mode on. Then about 2 weeks in I am at 100% lead on pour some sugar on me with solos at 100%. Now 2 months in I have bought a bass and I am playing bass at 100% on many songs. This is simply AMAZING GUITAR TEACHING SOFTWARE!!! I am retaining what i am learning, my skills have massively improved, i am playing songs, without the game running, all the way through. Between all the games in guitarcade to help learn chords and scales, all the lessons, completing missions, playing all the downloaded song add-ons, playing all the challenges like score attack i usually play around 2 or 3 hours a week night after work and on the weekends if i am not busy i have been staying up all night playing. I can't get enough and its a blast. Nothing boring here. And now my 10yr old grandson shows interest in guitar from when he stayed with us last year. I gave him my old elec guitar and amp at the end of last year but the DVDs i got him to learn from are killing him. Well he's back this year and he loves it, he has already started to catch on in 1 day. So i am back to order him his cable and game and now i am even happier because the PS3 version is $20 cheaper than when i bought it 2 months ago and it teaches him everything i can not teach him in the month he will be here with lessons and games. If you have never played, played forever, wanted to play but don't want the expense and schedule of lessons, learn at your own pace, this is the way to go. As you progress so does the game, it will start you out nice and slow so you get the feel, recommend things to speed improvement with hints and tips. I started it out on beginner and I want to say it could tell i knew a little so it started to step up the notes, and then chords. The more you get right the more it throws at you. It has also helped me clean up some of my bad habits. I woulda highly recommend this product to anyone who plays or wants to play guitar. 6 out of 5 stars. Worth every penny. GET IT AND ROCK OUT!!!
I'm usually a huge fan of short stories, but I had a difficult time reading more of these than expected. As others have mentioned, the choice of short stories is up to the editor, and this year it just wasn't up to what I've read previous years. That's not to say everyone will dislike the stories as many of them are good, but this time it just wasn't my favorite.
This thing is the best . I love it don't know how I drove without it . You need it with all the nuts out on the road.
