2012's special effects effect on me (if you'll pardon my awkward phrasing) was like a diabetic falling into a vat of pancake syrup -- in other words, a major sugary high followed by a sense of intense overdose. This film elevates the art of CGI to a whole 'nother level. No longer will the viewer be satisfied seeing a single spaceship (or whatever) blow up while the rest of the screen is comparatively benign. From now on, the entire screen should be filled with absolutely captivating CGI action. I found my eyeballs pivoting right and left, up and down ... trying to capture the whole experience: buildings and bridges collapsing ... cars and trains cartwheeling through the air ... monumental!
I've been computing since DOS, and have burned through an awful lot of software in that time, including utilities like anti-virus. I've used all the big ones and some lesser ones, too. Webroot Antivirus has to rank as THE BEST. Start with ease of installation. Then, when running, I quickly noted its simplicity of interface, smoothness of operation running in background, the quickness and almost perfect transparency of its scans, and its fully intelligible reports. Most of all, however, were the smack-on results it gave me. Which requires me to relate an abbreviated story: For over a year my home PC, running Vista, had been subject to irregular, and annoyingly frequent freezing of the screen and all input devices, sometimes once a week, more often three or four times per day. Over many months, I painstakingly researched the possible causes, and one by one eliminated them, with no success. I was all ready to strip out Vista and migrate to 7, when my former top-rated anti-virus subscription ran out. I decided to try Webroot, because it was less expensive, and well recommended. Immediately on installing Webroot and performing the first scan, it detected hundreds of malware, spyware, etc. that my big name-brand anti-virus hadn't. Best of all, the freeze-ups vanished, and NEVER returned. It's been several months, and not only is my PC free of freeze-ups, my wife swears it does everything faster that when it was new. Webroot, we're fans. Keep up the good work.
I have been tryin grow my hair out for the last 3 years. And was consistently getting breakage. I have black kinky hair. I also use a relaxer which I will NOT give up. Anywho, this past winter I had the most breakage in the crown area, so that if I pull my hair up it looks like a crown. Shallow in the center and long around the hairline. So I bought this whole regimen out of desperation. And as one last go around before I get the clippers. But the Hair Loss Shampoo and Conditioner and Vinegar Rinse work! My hair less of my hair is falling out. And it just feels better after. Some of their products did not work so good on my hair. But this regimen does. Also the test will be the winter when my hair tends to break off more. But until then Loyal customer here.
One would think that backup software named True Image would create an accurate image of your computer disk. But it doesn't. Buried three menu levels deep is a list of files that it excludes by default from even a disk image backup. Some like hiberfil.sys can generally be ignored without problem, but also included is the Chrome/User directory. So no Chrome cookies or user settings are restored. If Acronis is not actually making a true disk image, what else is it hiding from me? Also, I had to type my encryption password four times during a test restore before it was recognized. Maybe I mis-typed it the first time, but not twice after that. Having done more than a few restores from backup in the past 35 years, I have to have absolute trust in the backup software I use. Acronis falls far short of earning that trust.
I have used TaxCut/H&R Block for at least 10 years. Each year it seems to get better, but not change enought to make it difficult to go from one year to the next. This is a tough year as the change in the tax law was so late. I like the new feature at the first page giving the status of updates and information about when to file and when you should wait.
